August 23, 2011 South put on an offensive show in its home opener to bury visiting Bedford North Lawrence, 6-2, in boys' soccer Monday night. Chris Post had a hat trick plus an assist to lead the outburst as the Panthers took a 4-0 halftime lead. “We played some of the best soccer we’ve played in a while,” South coach Kevin Sparks said. “Scott McClary probably played one of the best games he’s played, not only as leader, but with decision-making, ball control and the defensive-minded game he brought to the table.” Bedford pulled within 4-2 against South reserves in the second half before the Panthers’ added two more to put the game away.
