BOYS' SOCCER South soccer boys blank Southport, 3-0 H-T Report
September 9, 2011 South's boys' soccer team played one of its best matches of the season in blanking Conference Indiana foe Southport, 3-0, Thursday night. “That was a talented Southport team,” South coach Kevin Sparks said. “We played some of our best soccer. The kids needed this one to show they can play.” Christ Post got the Panthers on the board in the first half on an assist from Cameron Bland. Kyle Burks added a pair of second-half goals on assists from Kelly Dunigan and Joey Weibel. Keeper Doug Terrill turned away four shots. “Southport came at us pretty hard, but we defended well,” Sparks said. “In the first half we were a little frantic, playing a lot of long ball, but the second half we played physical and possessed the ball.
